Simple Steps to Stop Spam

Internet marketing is a billion dollar industry. Rogue marketers on the Internet will do anything they can to get a fresh list of victims to send their spam email. The average computer user has had more than one instance where their inboxes are full of illicit advertisements. Black hat marketing campaigns will spend thousands of dollars to your favorite websites to find out your email and other contact information. They stick you onto their spam list and study your demographic, and then they can try and sell you their products, even if you have no interest in buying them.

Fortunately, there are many ways to stop this unwarranted and annoying advertisement with a few easy steps.

How to stop Spam:

1.) Look for websites with a comprehensive privacy policy and a spam-free approved logo. These websites will never sell your personal information to third-party sources.

2.) If a website in question does not have certification, use a secondary email account for your registration to prevent spam from getting to your main account.

3.) Stop spamming by using an email provider with a good spam filter. Examples include Yahoo.com, Gmail.com, Hotmail.com and other mainstream email programs.

4.) Install anti-spam software on your web server if you run a POP3 email program off of your own website.

5.) Do periodic scans for spyware and adware that sell your email and information to third-party companies.

These are just a few of the ways you can stop inexperienced spammers and marketers, however, most marketers are smart and will make alternate email accounts send you email even after you block their main accounts. Luckily, there is a way to stop them from e-mailing you on secondary email accounts.

Use an email search website to find information about email addresses, including alternate and secondary accounts, as well as IP addresses linked to that email account's use.

How To Choose A Domain Name For Your Niche Website

A domain name is the address that your website will get found by people. In layman terms, it is the physical address you provide for others so that they can visit you. Hence with a domain name, your friends and target can find your website. It is the first most important criteria towards starting an online business.

Deciding on a domain name requires some prior study to the market and the target crowd. Here's some tips for you to take note on how to choose a domain name for your website.

Market Research

In order for you to have a better chance to get found by Google the search engine, you need to identify the keywords that is widely searched by your target market. Actually this is the toughest step in deciding the domain name for your website. It usually takes days and sometimes even months to do the market research.

Luckily, Google has made it easy to understand the terms commonly search by the market via its Google Keywords Tool. Remember to use it to find out your niche before jumping into choosing your domain name based on emotions.

Choose .com Domains

As a newbie, often the decision which type of domain should one choose? Always choose a .com domain if possible. .com domains are the defacto in the industry and most people are accustomed to .com domains. It provides more credibility to your business compared to.net or.biz domains.

Keywords Rich Domains

Domains should be keywords rich. Your domain names should be short and contain the commonly searched terms that your audience will search when you are doing your market research. This will ensure that your websites have a higher chance to be ranked on the first page of Google.

Short Domains

Domains should short and concise so that it is easier to remember. Remember if you have long domain name, chances are it is easier for misspellings and errors; it will make your website harder to be found. In the market these days, it is almost impossible to find 2 worded keywords. If you can, you have probably hit a goldmine. 3 to 4 worded keywords are still acceptable to most people. Anything more than that will be hard for your users to search.

Numbers and Hyphens

Avoid numbers and hyphens as much as possible. These not are natural keywords terms that people will type in the searchbox. A hyphenated domain does not rank as well as one that is non hyphenated. In addition, a hyphenated domain made it seem it is trying to copy the real domain, hence it gave the impression of an inferior website. You definitely do not want that to happen to your website and lose out on the traffic.

After deciding the on the domain name for your website, you can register them in domain registrar such as Godaddy and Namecheap for a mere amount of USD$10 annually.

Save Money on Workers' Compensation Insurance by Implementing Return to Work Program

Workers' Compensation can be expensive, but it is mandated by the government that businesses carry it. The cost of Workers' Compensation is determined by a company's Experience Modification. The Ex Mod takes into account previous loss history, so the more losses and the bigger the losses the more you pay. Obviously the way to keep the lowest premium is to have zero losses, but if a loss does occur there are certain things that a business owner can do to limit the loss and in turn save money down the road. One program that a business can implement, to keep their Ex Mod lower, is a Return to Work program.

Return to Work (RTW) is also referred to as Modified Duty or Transitional Work. Return to Work is a process that an employer can set up to bring injured employees back to work quickly and safely. When an employee is injured badly enough that they cannot perform their regular duties an employer can bring them back to work doing a different task that is not as physical, as long as the physician Okays it. For example, if a roofer hurts his knee and cannot resume his normal job activities he may be able to help file in the office or just be an assistant to the manager. The positions that are created do not have to be full-time; they just need to be enough to keep the employee busy and still earning some money. By the employee working and earning money again it limits the amount that the insurance company pays the employee for lost time, and when the insurance company pays less it will not increase the Ex Mod as much. Another benefit of RTW is that it gets the employee back into their regular routine faster. When a person gets used to laying on the couch everyday it can sometimes be difficult to get motivated to go back to work. By getting the employee off of the couch it also stops them from seeing the many commercials for Workers' Comp attorneys that play during day time TV. In addition, since the employee is still coming to work everyday it is easier for the employer can make sure that the employee is attending physical therapy sessions and other medical treatments as they should.

Some Workers' Comp insurance companies will help you set up your own Return to Work program. If your insurance company will not help you create your own Return to Work program talk to your insurance agent and they should be able to help you.

New Theory On Increased Military Suicides Considered

In previous wars, we've had our military war fighters come back and often they had psychological challenges readjusting to society. This is normal, it has been talked about since Roman times in Western culture. It is also been discussed in ancient Chinese and Japanese writing as well. It's no secret, warfare, that is to say real war up close and personal changes a man. The young gung ho soldier running into battle is all about bravado, but their steely eyes once it's done don't lie, their innocence is lost.

We already know this, we don't need more psychologists studying this topic telling us what we already have discovered, and humankind has not changed from that historical record for as far as we can tell in the last 6000+ years; so why would it change now, because our technology has; doubtful?

The RAND Corp recently put out an interesting report in the 4th quarter of 2012 titled; "The War Within - Preventing Military Suicide" by Rajeev Ramchand, Joie Acosta, Rachel Burns, Lisa H Jaycox, and Christopher G. Pernin. The report's introduction discusses combat stress in the theater, prolonged deployments, multiple deployments, etc. and then on the issue of stress it stated;

"This stress can manifest itself in different ways - increased divorce rates, spouse and child abuse, mental distress, substance abuse - but one of the most troubling manifestations is suicide, which is increasing across the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). The increase in suicides among members of the military has raised concern among policymakers, military leaders, and the population at large."

The report also noted all the military is doing with "state-of-the-art suicide prevention programs" and "prevention science" including robust monitoring. That's all well and good, and it makes sense to get to the bottom of the problem and find a way to prevent it.

However, I have a different theory on all of this, it is a new theory, one you haven't heard before, and I would like to discuss it with you. First of all we know that sand often has in it lots of bacteria. This shouldn't surprise anyone because if you look at sand particles under a microscope you see it is all filled with old organic material. As that old material decays, and since it is high in nutrients and minerals, there is an abundance of bacteria around even with all of the sunlight and UV radiation constantly on it.

These last two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq occurred in regions filled with sand. That bacteria in the sand does have an effect on the human bio system, gene expression, and disease. We already know that people in the Middle East often feel it is their duty to commit suicide through suicide bombings and terrorist attacks. Maybe they've been subjected to this bacteria in the sand all their lives.

Now that we have brought hundreds of thousands of Americans into that theater to fight a war, they are experiencing the same thing now, to a greater degree in previous wars. I'd say this bacteria effect is an enhancement or force-multiplier to the suicide problem and psychological issues of human warfare. There's your new theory, do with it what you will, but don't deny what I've said unless you can empirically prove me wrong. Please consider all this and think on it.

How Secure Are Online Data Backups?

Processing DATA is what all businesses do. Protecting data is what SMART businesses do. Smart businesses understand that if they lose their data they lose their business.

If you are considering taking steps to ensure the integrity and safety of your important computer data you may be concerned about the security involved when dealing with such a task. When considering a third party such as an online secure data backup solution there are a few things to consider:

For starters, it is critical that your data be secure not only while in the possession of a third party but also while in transit to them. Most modern online secure data backup providers make there services available via the Internet and will provide you with the necessary software to back up a predefined set of your critical data, which is then encrypted (typically up to 448 bit), before it is transferred over a high speed connection to a secure data storage facility. By securing your data before transferring it over the Internet, you can be assured that your sensitive data (such as financial reports, company memos, and client databases) are safe from prying eyes. For ultra-critical, or highly sensitive applications, the data may be transferred over a completely encrypted channel (also known as an encrypted "tunnel" or virtual private network). If you will be backing up sensitive data that demands the utmost of privacy be sure to inquire about the level of encryption offered by the online secure data backup you are considering.

When considering a remote data backup vendor you should also take into consideration the facilities in which your sensitive data will be physically stored. In addition to encryption technology other things to be on the lookout for are fully secure facilities, biometric security systems, facility lockout policies, and human security. Depending on the level of security you need there are many levels of protection for your data that can be provided by remote data backup companies.

Be sure to do your research and investigate the track record and reputation of the online data backup company you are considering doing business with and never hesitate to ask questions when it comes to ensuring the security of your mission critical confidential data.

Your DATA is your LIFE. Protect it!

Contest Advice for Screenplay Writers

Introduction

There are many screenplay contests available to the aspiring screenwriter. These contests can be a good avenue to getting one's work noticed and/or make a sale. So, it's important to make certain that you have written your screenplay to the best of your ability and according to industry standards.

The most important thing to do for any aspiring screenwriter is to first learn the basic techniques of screenwriting before sitting down to write one. I come across many hopeful writers who think that all it takes to write a script is a good story idea and a lot of explosive special effects. While a good story is important, with or without the special effects, writing that story using proper industry standards is equally important. (Please visit http://www.coverscript.com/education.html -- Tips for Screenwriters link for further information.)

There are specific techniques to the craft of screenwriting involving everything from act structure to proper screenplay format, which must be followed. It's difficult to write engaging characters, focused plots and entertaining screenplays without having a solid framework in which to bring it all to life.

Before any money is spent submitting your work to a screenwriting contest, it would behoove the writer to first educate himself in the "tools of the trade". There are many, many screenwriting books available as well as workshops and seminars, both online and in live classroom situations. My advice is to take advantage of them. Then, armed with the basics, write, write and then write some more.

Then before submitting your work to any screenplay competition have it copyrighted and WGA registered. (United States Copyright office: http://www.loc.gov/copyright Writers Guild of America: [http://www.wga.org] )

Advice and Suggestions

I am a judge for many contests and as such, have read thousands of TV scripts and screenplays. I can assure you that the winners are chosen because their screenplays or TV scripts contain great stories and are written to industry standards. Therefore, putting your best foot forward is a must. Below are some pointers to keep in mind before you submit your screenplay.

· If your purpose is to "break into the business", make certain that the script contest you enter offers meetings with agents and/or producers as part of the prize for winning and not just cash prizes. Of course, if it is just the extra cash you're after, then go for it!

· Make certain, before you write that entry fee check and send in your material, that the screenplay contest or TV script competition is a reputable one and indeed has, in the past, delivered to its winners what it promised in its promotion.

· Presentation of your screenplay does count so make certain your screenplay follows the accepted industry standards. This not only includes using the proper screenplay format but also such things as a typo-free screenplay and the correct binding.

· Keep in mind that the industry professionals who sponsor some of these film and TV competitions do so in order to find good producible material, hopefully for lower rather than higher budgets. Therefore, entering a screenplay in a genre with a story that screams "high budget" lessens the writer's chances of winning. This means that

(1) Sci-fi special effects stories taking place on purple planets populated with giant, paisley-skinned, seven-armed, Plasmanian Wooglegorps who magically float through the air using anti-gravity belts or

(2) a 1920's Period Piece necessitating Model-T's, Zoot suits and flappers or

(3) an action/adventure story that has the bad guys blown to smithereens, along with their Lear jet, over the ocean, followed by a high-tech nuclear submarine underwater search and rescue mission while the oil slicked water burns out of control, may not be the best way to go.

· Make certain that your story is told visually. Film is a visual medium.

· Make sure you don't have "on the nose" dialogue or too much dialogue and that all the dialogue sounds natural.

· Check to make sure that your characters are interesting, engaging and have good character arcs. Nothing worse than having an unlikable hero, a wishy-washy bad guy, or a protagonist who starts out angry at the world and by the end of the story is still angry at the world having learned and changed nothing in his nature.

Conclusion

Once you've gone through your screenplay and are satisfied with it, have it read by someone else. After all, your story is intended for a movie-going audience so honest opinions from friends and family members will give you a feel for that audience reaction.

Then do yourself a favor and have your screenplay read by an industry professional that has experience and good credentials in the area of script analysis. A writer can become too close to his work and not be able to "see the forest for the trees". It is to your advantage to have any possible format, story, character, dialogue and structure flaws found and corrected before it is submitted to a movie or TV script contest.

While there is never any guarantee your screenplay or TV script will be a winner, writing one to the best of your ability and which meets industry standards is a must, as the competition is fierce.

I wish you great success in your present and future story-telling adventures.

Finding a Local Moving Company for Your Crosstown Move

A local moving company might be beneficial to you if you are going crosstown. Going across the country can be difficult, but it is almost just as difficult to pack up to move across town. Obviously the move across the country is harder because of all of the distance, but going any distance necessitates packing up your belongings in some type of order.

You might be going the other side of town to be closer to work or the school you want your kids to be in. Whatever the reason, it will take some time to get packed up and moved. If you are trying to keep working through the process then you may want to hire a local moving company to do the majority of the work for you to save you time.

Before hiring any company to come and handle your belongings, you should definitely check up on them. The Better Business Bureau is one place that may be able to tell you something about a local moving company. Some companies are not registered with the organization. Another option is to find reviews of local moving companies in your area. Make sure to interview with them and get an estimate before doing anything else.

A company may seem very good, but that is sometimes where the reviews come in. Obviously someone can write a negative review, of course, and it may or may not be warranted. If you look at the reviews and there are some positive and some negative, read through them. Some people are just picky, and you might not even have a problem with what they say. Other times, you might find a number of the same legitimate complaints. This is when you need to be careful about hiring the company.

Hopefully you will be able to find a company to help you that also has a good reputation. One thing about making a move across town is that you will not spend all the money on mileage that you would if you were making a longer move.

You may prefer to pack the boxes and truck yourself and just get help with the actual move. This is fine, too. A company should be able to help you to do this as well as unpack.

Before making your choice for a local moving company, be sure and do a few price comparisons between other companies in your area. Read the fine print. Some might offer boxes and packing supplies for free while others charge for everything.

Blog Networks, Forums, and Tweeterville - Does Anyone Have Any Original Opinions Still?

Not long ago I had an interesting complement from an acquaintance. He told me that it was okay that I got thrown off of a blog network, because at least I stuck to my guns, had my own view, and refused to relinquish authority or cower to the mass mob of political correctness. Interestingly enough, I totally agree with that, and although it was unfortunate I can no longer participate on that blog network, perhaps it's just as well, lest it would corrupt my mind, as it challenged my right to free speech unless I promised to agree with everyone else. Okay so let's talk about this for second shall we?

Indeed, I told my acquaintance that; yes, those blog networks are interesting indeed. It is almost as if no one of any real intellect wants to discuss anything or exchange ideas, more tell everyone what their opinion is, which is not even theirs, it is pretty much whatever TV station or newspaper they soak in that information from, which they adopt and swear it is their own, not so much thinking these days and don't get me started on the Facebook generation.

You see, "it's amazing what people can be led to believe," or someone once said. Indeed, I think I also am in line with that thought from that famous philosopher, even if I do not agree with everything he said during a lifetime. Whereas most clinical psychologists will tell us that people are a victim of their observations, education, and experiences; it's too bad that there is so little creative and original thinking going on these days.

Why go onto a blog network, Internet forum, or even on one of those social networks like Facebook, or hang out at Google+ if all you hear are the opinions, opinion polls and surveys, or talking points of various groups on any side of the political spectrum. You see, I have this theory that humans just like to "commote" which is a word that I've created to explain the action verb for commotion, as it sounds a little bit more like "commode" - and perhaps that's what I'm saying - all of this trouble on the Internet, and now there are trillions of pages of it - doesn't amount to much.

Whereas, a good percentage of our population is attempting to work itself onto the same page, too many people are giving up their sense of originality, and they won't stand by their ideas. New ideas and concepts without a spokesperson cannot be achieved, as they end up a lost cause, something we talk about in our think tank quite often. You can have the greatest idea in the world, but if the bureaucracy, or political correctness won't let you get past square one, then there is no use wasting your time in uttering "pearls to swine." Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

How to Play Links Golf

When sheep huddled in hollows of sandy linksland to shelter from freezing North Sea winds off the coast of Scotland, the first golf bunkers were created. When roaming livestock grazed on the tough links grasses man saw an opportunity to mark out hard running greens and fairways for a new sport called golf.

To this day, playing links golf - in Scotland and Ireland - or at one of the prestigious venues for the Open Championship, is the dream golf tour. Many golfers travel from all over the world on a pilgrimage to the world's best links golf courses.

If you've never battled strong sea breezes, or aimed down a fairway lined by gorse bushes you'll probably feel you are playing a different game.

Global Golfer's editor Matthew Moore, a one handicap golfer, lived in St Andrews for four years and devoted himself to learning the art of links golf.

Here is a practical guide to playing links golf.

Learn to knuckle the ball off the tee

Fairways at links courses can be narrow and lined by gorse (a hard dense prickly shrub), pot bunkers and thick tall rough fescue grasses.

When the wind blows hard, it's difficult to keep the ball in play and out of trouble, especially if you are used to driving the ball high through the air with a lot of spin and shape.

To play links courses well you need to drive the ball low and straight, under the wind, with less spin so that it lands and runs down the fairways.

You can do this by hitting the "knuckle ball" with your driver. This shot creates a low top spinning flight that releases and runs on landing.

Here's how:

· Tee the ball low, quite tight to the turf

· Choke right down on the grip

· Address the ball out of the middle of your stance

· Stack 60% of your weight on your left side

· Swing with a three quarter length at a smooth tempo, resisting the temptation to hit the ball hard and focusing on making a sweet strike

Remember, as with all full shots in the wind, the harder you hit the ball the more spin you create and the higher you will hit it, exposing it to the wind.

The knuckle ball drive will be shorter than your usual drives, but will make up for it by running on the hard links fairways. Best of all, it's accurate and great for beating the wind and keeping the ball on short grass rather than in the gorse - which almost certainly equals a penalty drop.

Play with Punch not Ego

It's not unusual to find yourself facing a shot of 125 yards into a tiny raised up green with a gale force wind blowing into your face. This is when you have to leave your ego behind, forget you hit gap wedge 130 yards if you swing full out, and play smart by choosing a much longer club and punching it to keep the flight down and reduce spin.

To play links golf well, you have to accept you will sometimes hit a 4-iron from 140 yards or an 8-iron when you only have 85 yards left. You do this by playing the punch shot - the links golfer's best friend.

To punch the shot means to play with a shorter backswing, de-lofting the club for a lower flight and using your forearms and body together to shorten your follow through and punch aggressively through the ball at impact.

Top tips for punch shots:

· Grip down the shaft

· Position the ball further back in your stance towards your right foot

· Move your hands slightly further ahead of the ball

· Shift 65% of your weight onto your left side

· Swing ¾ length and punch through the shot with a shortened follow through below shoulder height

The lower the flight the less likely it is to be affected by the wind.

Make adjustments for the ball flying in lower and aim to land it short of the flagstick and allow it to run out towards the hole.

Practical Putting

If you usually play on inland golf courses or at golf resorts, you probably use your lob wedge and your sand wedge most when chipping around the green, throwing the ball high and landing it soft.

At a links courses the strong winds can buffet the ball from the shortest of distances and make accurate chipping difficult. Also, it's rare to find thick rough around a links green, the most common hazards are bunkers, run offs, bank sides and hollows, which makes it possible to put the wedge away and use the putter from off the green.

At The Open Championship you will have seen top professionals putting from 25 yards off the green with great results. This is because putting from off the green is one of the best short game choices you can make on a links. The fairways are usually extremely tight making nipping the ball off the hard turf a precise skill - and it's easy to thin, blade or skull the shot.

Your worst putt will always be better than your worse chip, so look at the slope and undulation of the land, be practical and use your putter to get the ball up and down.

Bump and Run makes the game fun

You will have heard about the Scottish bump and run or seen it played. This low flying shot lands short of the green or just on the green and rolls out towards the hole like a putt.

If you have nothing between yourself and the flag then the bump and run is a brilliant option because once it lands it starts to behave like a putt and can track towards the hole. Links greens can be undulating and sloping and so landing a high chip or pitch onto a hard downslope can cause inconsistent bounces and erratic results.

How to bump and run:

· Address the ball off the right foot

· Use anything from a five iron to a 9-iron

· Weight 70% on the left side

· Sternum ahead of the ball

· Heads ahead of the ball, club sitting upright

· Make a putting stroke and hit crisply down into the back off the ball

· Pick a spot just on the green to land it and let it run towards the hole

Lie of the land

A caddie at The Old Course at St Andrews, Turnberry or Troon would tell you that it takes time to get to know the subtleties and nuances of links land and learn the bounce of the ball. Often slopes and natural features can funnel the ball towards the hole, squeeze extra yards from a drive or prevent a ball from going in a hazard.

Buying a yardage chart and studying the contours and slopes of each hole is a good idea but you can't beat being alert and observant when you are playing the course. Watch how partners balls bounce, look at sloping fairways and anticipate if you need to play to the right for a kick to the left.

Sometimes on a links the last place you will aim is the flag, because you might need to hit it 30 yards right to catch a shoot that funnels the ball left to the hole.

Hybrid Heaven

The worst thing you can do when playing links golf in a wind is hit hard onto the back of the ball with a steep swing squeezing the ball up into the air and applying backspin to it. The shot will balloon and the wind will exaggerate the spin forcing it into trouble.

A good way to get around this is to have a number of hybrid clubs or utility clubs to pick from. By using a hybrid with a shallower flatter swing you can pick the ball off the top of the grass and sweep it towards the target.

It's easier to hit lower shots that have less spin and are more accurate by hitting hybrids rather than trying to drive down hard on long irons.

Make the wind your friend

The chances are that it will be windy on your links golf tour. It's vital you make the wind your friend not your foe. The easiest way is to play with the wind rather than against it. Instead of trying to cut a three iron into a right to left wind, take a 5-iron and aim further right allowing the ball to ride the wind. It's the same with a driver, cutting a ball into a right to left wind can take fully 80-yards off your tee shot, but, set up for a right to left draw and aim further right can result in big drives and simpler second shots.

Use the wind to your advantage and remember the harder you hit, the higher it flies and the stronger the effect on the ball and its spin.

Take your medicine in Bunkers

Our final tip for playing links golf is to be able to take your medicine and play safe when you find yourself in bunkers. Have you heard of the "Sands of Nakijima"?, more commonly called the "Road Hole" bunker at the 17th on The Old Course at St Andrews.

It's typical of the deep pot bunkers with riveted faces common on the links courses of Scotland, Ireland and Wales. I mention it here because it's a classic example of how a round can come unstuck when a golfer tries to execute a miracle recovery from a deep bunker. If you aren't at least 90% certain you can clear the lip don't risk duffing it into a riveted face and having it drop straight down into an even worse spot.

It's no shame to play out sideways or even backwards from a links pot bunker if it means you can save a bogey or even better stop yourself making a quad or scoring in double figures.

Opt for the conservative shot that will guarantee you have at least a chance of a reasonable score - if you don't you might find a bunker named after you.

Once again, here's the short version of Global Golfer's top-tips for playing Links Golf.

· Knuckle ball your drives

· Play with punch not ego

· Be practical putt from off the green

· Bump and run to make the game fun

· Learn the lie of the land

· Hybrids are heavenly on the links

· Make the wind your friend

· Take your medicine in the bunkers

What Are The Top 6 Issues In HIPAA Security Compliance?

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) that was passed as a federal law in 1996 has some stringent penalties for non compliance and it is important that all covered entities are aware about them. This will ensure that all the rules and regulations of HIPAA are complied by them and this will help prevent violations.

Top 6 Issues Of HIPAA Security Compliance

As most covered entities start storing medical records electronically, it would be advisable to use passwords and encryption programs to help protect them from unauthorized access. There should also be risk assessment done by the organizations to help determine any loopholes that are there in the policies that will help safeguard the confidential information of patients. There should be checks and counter checks in place that will help the covered entities safeguard all information of patients in the best possible way. This will help only authorized individuals access all the necessary information of patients and unauthorized access can be completely eliminated. All employees of covered entities will need to be provided with adequate training. This will help them know all the rules and regulations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. There are also frequent amendments and changes that are made to HIPAA and employees will need to be aware about them too. It is usually the responsibility of the employer to provide these amendments to the employee to ensure better compliance. There are some very stringent provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act for non compliance of the Act. The penalties can be civil or criminal and depending on the nature and extent of the violation the penalties can be fine or imprisonment. While the civil violations attract fines starting from $100 and this can go up to a million dollars annually. The criminal violations will attract fines and imprisonment. The imprisonment period can be two to five years if the violation was intentional. The covered entities will need to have internal audit checks to determine whether all the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act are followed in an effective way. The audits should also be on a continuous basis and this will help in determining if employees who are entrusted with the responsibility of handling confidential information of patients are able to comply with all the requirements of HIPAA. Although all protected information of patients cannot be accessed without proper authorization by the patients there are some instances when it can be accessed as per HIPAA. These exemptions are usually available to federal and state agencies. The confidential information can also be accessed if there is a court order in this regard.

Apart from the exemptions that are specified by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, protected information of patients cannot be accessed by anyone other than the physicians and nurses who form part of the treatment plan. The patient can request for a copy of their medical report and changes can also be made to it if it is found to be wrong.

Streaming Audio - What Is It and What Are the Advantages?

Streaming audio is a method of listening to an audio track on the internet, while it is being received, rather than having to download an entire file first. In a traditional download sense, when you want to listen to an audio file, you need to first start a download. Only when the complete file has downloaded, can your audio player start to replay the audio track. However, with advances in technology, it has been necessary to find alternative ways of playing back downloaded audio files.

To expand on this issue a little further, it is now possible to listen to radio stations on the internet, live, as well as specific concerts, and other applications are being developed all the time. However, if you think about it, radio stations that broadcast twenty four hours a day are not creating special files for each song online. They are just taking their audio output and sending it through a computer program to be streamed on the internet. Naturally, the big advantage is that audio in this way can be picked up, or started from any point, and then picked up again later, after a pause if you wish. Equally, it is an emerging technology and is thus becoming faster to start up from the opening of your various audio monitoring programs.

In addition, it is possible to also record streaming audio files into smaller chunks of audio for your own use. Several popular programs exist for this, and one free one is called Audacity. It is essentially a case of setting it up correctly in order to record the audio from your computer. Essentially, instead of using the audio microphone as the input, you can select the audio source or your computer's sound card. This is driven by the audio input button, and the options displayed will vary from computer to computer, depending on your machine's configuration.

More and more material is being streamed online, rather than just made available as pre-made audio files. In addition, with the changes that are sweeping the broadcasting industry, more and more radio and TV stations are streaming their programs online, realizing they need to compete in this new medium to remain relevant. Effectively, more people are opting to spend time in front of the internet, and in some demographics, traditional TV viewing is reducing. Streaming audio is not anything to be scared of, but rather opens new doors of opportunity in terms of what can now be technologically created.

Obtaining an Assignment Order in California

This article will briefly discuss the filing of a motion for an assignment order in California. An assignment order can be very useful to someone attempting to collect a judgment in California.

Many times someone attempting to collect a California judgment will be unable to collect as they cannot locate any assets such as a bank account or car that may be seized to satisfy the judgment. Or the judgment debtor may be self-employed making a wage garnishment impossible. These types of situations are where an assignment order can allow someone to collect on a judgment that would otherwise be uncollectible. Many persons working in the judgment recovery field will testify to the effectiveness of an assignment order.

Code of Civil Procedure Section 708.510 authorizes a Court to issue an order directing the Judgment Debtor to assign to a Judgment Creditor, all or part of a right to payment due, or to become due, including:

Wages due from the federal government that are not subject to withholding under an earnings withholding order;

Other payments such as rents, commissions, royalties, payments due from a patent or copyright, insurance policy loan value, accounts receivable, general intangibles, judgments and instruments.

Although the Court may take into consideration all relevant factors, the sole constraints placed on the Court are that the right to payment be assigned only to the extent necessary to satisfy the creditor's money judgment and that, where part of the payments are exempt, the amount of the payments assigned should not exceed the difference between the gross amount of the payments and the exempt amount.

Note that a California Court of Appeal has ruled that just because a right to payment has been ordered assigned under Code of Civil Procedure Section 708.510, that does not preclude a challenge to whether the claims were assignable ab initio; the Legislature specifically noted that Section 708.510 does not make any property assignable that is not already assignable. In that case the Court ruled that a right to receive payment from a malpractice suit could not be assigned.

An assignment order can be used to reach almost any asset of a Judgment Debtor that is not exempt.

Code of Civil Procedure Section 708.520 authorizes the Court to restrain the Judgment Debtor from assigning or otherwise disposing of the right to payment sought to be assigned upon a showing of need. This is important as otherwise the Judgment Debtor may assign the right to payment to someone else or otherwise attempt to evade collection efforts.

Forget the Mousetrap, Build a Better List

Maybe you have tried several but have still not yet found the right one. Don't worry you are not alone we have all been there. But, if we have all been there and all had the same experience perhaps the fault does not lie with the method of list building. Perhaps it lies with us.

Almost all experienced internet marketers will have tried several methods before they tell you about the right one. They mean the right one for them, and this will be after they have tried most of the others.

You can save yourself time, trouble and money if you only did what we all should have done. That is to do your research. All the information that you need is available to you to make a balance decision as to which method you should try first. I say try first because if you have done your research and found the method for you, this should not preclude you for doing another method at the same time or later.

You need to ask yourself if you have the aptitude. There is little point trying to stick to article-writing, if you find writing a chore. Do you have the resources? There is little point using pay-per-click, if you don't have the money to see it through.

Once you have decided how you are going to build your list you will of course need to make the list, this will in turn become two distinctly separate lists. One for the enquirers and another for the buyers.

What we all want is a list of buyers. Those people that buy once may be more likely than average to buy again. This then is one of the pieces of advice that you don't see given away too often. Don't spend your time on building a list of people that collect free reports or free e-books. They probably never have and never will buy anything on line. Instead, spend your time creating a good rapport with those on the buyers list. They will soon come to trust you and your advice.

You are looking for those people that would want your product or service. If your initial offer is made for a modest cost you will attract only those people that a genuinely interested. They may not immediately become buyers of your main product or products but they are far more likely to stay with you than the gatherers of free information.

Girls Softball Drills: Pitching Machines Hinder More Than Help

Attention all girls softball coaches and hitters. This will explain why performing softball drills with pitching machines hinder more than help. Due to pitching machines, most girls softball  hitters never really reach their greatest hitting potential!

Girls softball teams use pitching machines because it is very difficult to throw strikes from a live hand in batting practice. A pitching machine is the tool most used in softball drills for helping hitters practice their swing mechanics. The reality is that the machine alters a players swing and timing more than it helps.

It is commonly known to most, if not all, baseball hitters and coaches, to stay away from pitching machines. Pitching machines do not have the same action that a live hand does when the ball is delivered in either sport. The spitting action that a pitching machine depicts when the ball flies out of it, is deceptive to the hitter. This deception adversely affects the hitter's timing and, ultimately, the hitters' swing.

Although baseball players and coaches know this intuitively, the message has not been made clear to women's fast pitch softball and girls softball. Women and girls softball relies on these machines far too much.  Most girls softball coaches have not figured out the proper way to use the pitching machines for softball drills or how to help players improve their confidence when using a pitching machine.

Softball drills for hitters should always be performed at a slower speed and the human pitcher or pitching  machine should be a good 3 to 5 paces in front of the pitching rubber. This is the only way to improve the confidence of the hitter. The hitter should have every opportunity to know what it feels like to connect with the ball efficiently; this type of set up will give the hitter that opportunity.

Unfortunately, in girls softball, the pitching machine is placed to close to the pitching rubber and the coaches set the speed of the pitch near the speed of what the hitter would see in a game. This does not help the hitter for 2 reasons:

1. The machine "spits" the ball harder when the machine is turned up and causes even more deception. Most hitters have to change the mechanics of their normal swing just to be able to contact the pitch. Because of this, hitters tend to throw their hands at the ball and do not have the time to adjust to the timing of the machine. This can only lead to improper use of their body and hips, not to mention, the hitter is practicing incorrect swing mechanics that will not be used during a game. Over time, continued use of pitching machines in softball drills will train a hitter's muscles to consistently swing the wrong way, even during games. This results in decreased levels of performance as well as confidence.

2. The hitters confidence goes down because most hitters swing and miss or just foul off the majority of the pitches when a machine is improperly placed and the speeds are increased. If you are a believer in achievement through visualization, then you should agree that a hitter who gets continuous images in their head of swinging and missing or bad hits, will not get better, but worse.

The key is to pitch batting practice out of a live hand if at all possible. Just pitching under hand close up with the L-screen at a slow pace will greatly improve the confidence and skills of the hitter. If you have no choice but to use a pitching machine for softball hitting drills, please adhere to the following proper use guidelines.

Proper Use Guidelines for Pitching Machine Drills When using a pitching machine for softball drills, set the machine between 30-40 mph depending on the age of the player. Place the machine 3-5 strides ahead of the pitching rubber. This will simulate the right pace that a hitter needs to see and feel in order to get her rhythm, timing, and swing down.

Proper use of pitching machines will also improve a hitters confidence and enable the coach to instruct much more efficiently. There is no reason why female softball hitters cannot be just as consistent as male baseball hitters. From a training perspective, this is the reason why baseball players experience more success with batting average and slugging percentage than softball players do. Most baseball players practice off live arms and if a tosser is not available, the player, more often than not, knows how to use pitching machines properly.

Girls softball needs the machines because it is hard to throw strikes from a live hand in batting practice. Use them properly and hitting will improve dramatically.
